Title : In vitro visna virus inhibition by AZT, 2'3'-didéoxycytidine and suramin
Authors : S. BEAUSSOLEIL, C. BOSGIRAUD et J.A. NICOLAS
Summary : Two nucleosides analogs (AZT and 2'3'-dideoxycytidine), and suramin have been tested for their inhibitory effects on Visna virus replication by cytopathogenesis inhibition, infectivity reduction, and reverse transcriptase assay. The three substances were able to block in vitro replication with EC50s equal to 0,3 µM, 0,3 µM and 5,2 µM, respectively.
Keywords : Visna virus - inhibition - AZT - dideoxycytidine - suramin.
