Title : Salmonella serovars isolated by the Departmental Veterinary Laboratory in La Reunion island between 1980 and 1989
Authors : A. GUIGNARD, F. LEMANE et T. VALLÉE
Summary : Two hundred and seventy strains of Salmonella have been isolated in La Réunion island between 1980 and 1989. These strains belong to 38 different serovars, with a predominance of S. typhimurium and S. enteritidis. Ninety three p. 100 of the strains are of animal origin, and 60 p. 100 of avian origin. The serovar profile is analogous to the metropolitan french one. It seems that their antibioresistance is higher. The contamination of imported one-day old poultry (at a level of 3.27 p. 100) is a sanitary problem which may be difficult to solve.
