Title : Immunoperoxydase detection of the Bovine Respiratory Syncytial Virus on paraffin-embeded sections of bovine long tissue.

Summary : Immunoperoxydase techniques using the 18B2 monoclonal antibody on paraffin-embeded sections allows the detection of some antigens of the Bovine Respiratory Syncytial Virus in infected bovine lungs. A positive signal is seen in the cytoplasm of some bronchial and alveolar epithelial cells, in alveolar macrophages and in syncytia which characterize the infection. The localization of the antigens is highly correlated to macroscopic tissue lesions. Pretreatment of the long sections by 0.1 p.100 pronase is useful for a good labelling intensity.
