Title : Coccidiosis control in yellow chicken : a test of ParacoxTM vaccine
Authors : P. YVORE, M. NACIRI, L. CONAN et R. MANCASSOLA.
Summary : Paracox, an anticoccidial live vaccine, was tested for efficacy in yellow chickens reared in floor pens. The vaccine was administered in drinking water at 7 days of age. A severe challenge was made at 34 days of age with Eimeria tenella, E. acervulina and E. maxima. The vaccination have no effects on the animal performances but six days after the administration of the vaccine we have observed a slight but significant decrease of the serum coloration. The challenge was well controlled by the immunity except for the final yellow colorations of the carcasses. This is in relation to the age of birds at the time of infection and its severity.
Keywords : coccidiosis - anticoccidial live vaccine - chicken.
