Title : The repeat breeding syndrom : a review. I. Etiology.
Authors : J.F. BRUYAS, F. FIENI et D. TAINTURIER.
Summary : Different causes may be implied in the repeat breeding syndrom of cows. Uterine infections and the lack of correct diagnosis of aestrus are the most frequent causes. Anatomic abnormalities, lesions of fallopian tubes or of ovarian bursa, as well as alimentary causes (such as energy or nitrogen balance impairements) are frequent and quite easily diagnosed. The other causes of repeat breeding are heterogenous and the aetiology of infertility may correspond to many abnormalities that are difficult or impossible to diagnose.
Keywords : infertility - repeat breeding - metritis - aestrus diagnosis - cow.
