Title : From experimentation on animals to in vitro methods. 1. Cell cultures :limits, advantages, prospects
Authors : R. GUILLOT.
Summary : In vitro methods appeared at the turn of century and are by now extensively used in fundamental and applied research. The reasons of this development are bound to ethics (protection of laboratory animals) and to techniques. These methods, especially cell cultures, have limits to be well known, as well as unquestionable advantages. Their value and scientific interest bear out their preferential use in an experimental protocol.
Keywords : in vitro - ex vivo - methods - alternative - cell cultures - animal experimentation.
