Title : | Physiopathology of fever |
Authors : | H. SEBBAG |
Summary : | Fever, a syndrome consisting of hyperthermia and a number of other general signs, is part of the non-specific defences of many organisms. In response to different exogen pyrogens, fever is mediated by the endogen pyrogen, composed of cytokines of inflammation and of non-specific and specific immunity. Though it may be rather uncomfortable for the patient, fever has most often a positive effect against different aggressions. This defensive effect, as well as its role in diagnosis should incite to consider it well instead of using systematically antipyretics. |
Keywords : | fever - cytokine - non-specific immunity - specific immunity. |
