Title : Foreign Body in a chimpanzee (Pan troglodytes)
Authors : DL COHN
Summary : This report concerns a foreign object that was accidentally discovered imbedded within the ventral abdominal musculature of an adult male chimpanzee, Pan troglodytes. The object, a broken dart tip, was recovered surgically. It had apparently been lodged in the area since before.the animal arrived at the Laboratory for Experimental Medicine and Surgery in Primates (LEMSIP) of New York University Medical Center. This case reminds us that dart retrieval should be an incorporated part of the standard procedure of an animal facility.
Keywords : Forein object, Pan troglodytes
