Title : Epidemiologic review of major Brazilian parasitic zoonosis

Summary : This review describes the epidemiologic structure of five major zoonosis in Brazil : hydatidosis due to Echinococcus granulosus, E. vogeli and E. oligarthus, taeniasis and cysticercosis due to Taenia solium and Taenia saginata, angiostrongyliasis due to Angiostrongylus costaricensis, visceral and dermal leishmaniasis due to Leishmania chagasi, L. braziliensis, L. guyanensis, L. amazonensis, L. lainsoni, L. naiffi, L. shawi, and Chagas disease due to Trypanosoma cruzi. It identifies parasite's life cycle, geographic distribution, target population and disease control.
