Title : Uterine motricity and evaluation of some blood hormones in pregnant cows after administtration of Clenbuterol.
Authors : C.H. KARIBOUHOYE, K. EULENBERGER et J. SCHULTZ
Summary : Electromyographical and blood hormones analysis have been done on 3 cows and 1 heifer treated with Clenbuterol during dropping. The effect of clenbuterol is noted as soon as 10 mn after intramuscular injection and is characterized by a reduction of the frequence and amplitude of the uterine myoelectric activity. An I.M. single dose of 300 µg Clenbuterol during the first part of parturition delays the expulsion by 3-10 h. No relations between the Clenbuterol injection and the hormone profiles were noted in this work.
Keywords : clenbuterol - dropping - uterine motility - cattle.
