Title : Volumetry of the cranial cavity of the pointer : Computerized tomographie determination.
Authors : S. REGODON, Y. LIGNEREUX, J.-M. GARIN, A. MARTIN et A. ROBINA
Summary : Endocranial volumetry of forty pointers (20 males and 20 females) has been determined by radiological (Computerized tomography) techniques and biostatistical methods. A complete set of 5 mm thick and 5mm distant serial transverse sections was made on each head, under general anesthesia. Results demonstrate a clear differenciation between the sexes, with a security of 99.99 %. An application of this craniologic method is possible for zootechny and osteoarcheology.
Keywords : Craniometry - endocranial volume - Computerized tomography - Dog.
