Title :	Relative resistance and histopathology in inbred mice infected with Trypanosoma brucei brucei.

Summary :	The author defines the pathological changes observed in lymph nodes, spleen, liver, heart and in the kidney of inbred mice infected experimentally with Trypanosoma brucei brucei. The common feature of tissue damages is a change of (i) the tissue architecture due to a mononuclear cell infiltration (plasma cells, lymphocytes and macrophages) and (ii) the proportion and phenotype expression of the lymphocytes. The similarity of pathological changes observed in most of either trypanosusceptible or tolerant infected mice suggests that there is not any direct correlation between the importance of pathogenic injuries and the level of resistance of mice to African trypanosomiasis.
