Title : Plasma and aqueous humour immunoglobulin levels in canine leishmaniasis.
Authors : R. LOPEZ, M. NOVALES, P.J. GINEL, E. MARTIN, P. MORENO et J.M. MOLLEDA
Summary : Single radial immunodiffusion was used to study the levels of IgA, IgG and IgM in the plasma and aqueous humour of dogs with leishmaniasis. Plasma IgG levels increased substantially, while IgM concentrations diminished ; no changes were observed in IgA values. The increase recorded in aqueous humour IgG did not depend on plasma levels (r = 0,063), but on ocular alterations caused by leishmaniasis, particularly uveitis. Neither IgA nor IgG were detected in aqueous humour.
Keywords : immunoglobulins - plasma - aqueous humour - leishmaniasis - dog.
