Title : Hypothesis on the spread of African Horse Sickness to Morocco during 1989.
Authors : M.M. FASSI-FEHRI
Summary : The geographical localization and the chronological onset of the first outbreaks of African Horse Sickness in Morocco in 1989 have been examined with respect to the epizootic situation of the disease in the south of Spain and the meteorologic conditions during the same period. A set of arguments are suggested in favor of the influence of the wind pattern on the spread of the epidemic to the north of Morocco by insects vectors during the first days of september 1989.
Keywords : African Horse Sickness - epizootic - windborne spread - Morocco.
