| Summary : | A daily ultrasonic examination of follicular growth during oestrus was performed in 15 Poitou's jennies. During spring, the study showed that 54,2 % of females had an ovulation with a follicular size comprised between 30 and 33 mm. However, during summer 48 % of females had an ovulation with a follicular size greater than 36 mm. Consequently, artificial insemination in Poitou's jennies must begin at an optimal follicular size of 30 mm in spring and 33 mm in summer. |
